Membership Information Page

Memberships in Toastmasters run in 6-month cycles: From April through September and from October through March.

All new members pay a one-time fee of $20.00 to cover the cost of processing the membership and generating the membership materials.

Members pay semi-annual dues to Toastmasters International (TI) and to their local club.

Members who join in mid-cycle pay a pro-rated portion of the semi-annual dues to both TI and Positively Speaking.

To join Toastmasters follow these steps:

Visit several clubs in the area to determine where you feel most comfortable.
At a club meeting, ask the "VP Membership" to help you fill out an application form. The VP Membership will calculate your pro-rated dues payment.
Leave your completed application form and your check with the VP Membership. That's all there is to it!

Notes:

If you are a new speaker, we strongly recommend that you ask for a mentor to help you with your first few speeches. The VP Membership can assist you in choosing a mentor.

At Postively Speaking we give our new members a New Member kit that contains a copy of the basic Communication and Leadership manual. We do this as a convenience so you can get started with your initial speeches right away. (Typically it can take 30 days or longer to receive your membership kit from TI.)

Your membership kit from TI includes another copy of the manual. Please give the new manual to a club officer to replace the one we advanced to you.
